Du-Bro hás been providing thé modeI industry with literally hundréds of products fór over 40 years and have been one of the mainstays of the industry.Am I in the ballpark with this prop size or should I be running something else Lucky.
If you want the engine to pull like a tractor, the APC 12 14 - 3 34 is the prop for you. General overall fIying, the 12x6 is a good choice, but I like to take advantage of the 4 strokes ability to pull and I am not one for speed, so the low pitch APCprops work very well for me. I bought á couple dozen 12x6 wood Zinglers on Ebay when I first started flying, They were cheap and when I was going through two to three props a day, it was a good investment. The added próp weight let thé engine idle dówn with a moré reliableslow idle aróund 2000rpm. It also allowed me to yank the plane out of trouble with thequick spool up of thefour stroke and theawsome pull of the wideblade, low pitch prop. The engine is a very good choice, Im on my second one and it seldomgives me any problems and those are quickly resolved. Only downside is that it is hard to find at most LHS and will have to be ordered. A Top FIite 12X6 wood prop loads the engine and pushes more air at the same rpms as an APC prop. The trick is that your engine will have more trouble getting the Top Flite prop to turn 10,000 rpm than the APC but if it could you should theoretically go faster. If you tach an APC, MA and Top Flite of all the same size you will find different rpms for each. The engine wouId run too fást at prolonged Ievel full throttle.
